Paper Chain Flag MATERIALS Red,
white ,blue construction paper 1. Cut consturction paper into
6" x 1" strips 180 red strips, 160 white strips,
110 blue strips 2. Cut 50 white construction paper stars 3.
Have each student take 10 strips of one color and glue the strips into a 10 link
chain 4. Glue the 10 link chains together to make * 13 chains
of 32 links... * 3chains 32 red * 3chains 32 white *
4 chains of 17 red & 15 blue * 3 chains of 17 white and 15 blue Hang
from a dowel. * Glue on the 50 stars

inch piece of construction paper 8x8 inch piece of multi colored
wrapping paper 8x8 inch piece solid colored wrapping paper !.
Paste the solid colored paper on the construction paper 2 Cut
the patterned paper in half. 3.Create a fish from one of the
halves. 4. Create a pattern from the other half-ex. 8 squares
or 8 triangles 5. Glue the pattern pieces to the solid wrapping
paper 6. Glue the fish over the pattern pieces. 7.
Write about the picture and present it to the class.          
Patriotic Eagles
Alternating red and white paper strips make eagles eye-catching!
Each students needs: 3 red 3 white strips of paper, size 21/2' x 11" 1
piece of brown paper 31/2" x 41/2" for the tail 1 piece of brown or white
paper for the head pattern 1 piece of 9x12 dark scraps for the border stripes
Directions: Fold the paper stripes into half, then fourths, then eights.
Cut a rounded shape feather point on each strip; unfold. Place the strips
on the desks and cut them into the proper lengths. Top row will khave 8 points.
Each row under has one less point than the row before it. Alternate the colors.
Cut the tail from the brown paper. Use head pattern to make head. Assemble
eagle onto the dark blue paper and glue into place. Make a red and white border
at the top and bottom of paper. Use a white pencil or chalk to make stars
or add pre-pasted variety.
