Maryland
Teachers in Maryland can expect to make salaries that are along the high end of the spectrum when compared with those elsewhere in the nation. According to a survey done by the AFT, Maryland ranks at 12th in the nation when it comes to compensating its teachers. Maryland is one of the few states that has been able to increase teacher salaries to keep up with inflation, and as such, can be a highly desirable place to teach. Additionally, the state is one of the wealthiest in the United States and schools are well provided for by government funding. Because there is a shortage of teachers in many of Marylandës school districts, finding employment in the state may be easy for those with the right qualifications.
